How to Get Long and Healthy Hair

Just Trim It!

Trimming your hair regularly can prevent split ends and further damage. Nothing worse than stopping in with your favorite blow dry girl expecting a quick fix and your ends are frayed. The scissors are your friends. Maintaining your trims also allows your hair to appear fuller and more voluminous. Stop holding on to those straggly dead ends ladies.

Get Dirty

Washing your hair every day strips the hair follicles of its natural oils. You should be washing your hair no more than two to three times a week. Allowing the natural oils from the scalp to build up helps the oils to do its job which is to protect and hydrate the hair as well as the scalp. Oh and experiment with a little dry shampoo or a cute bun if you feel your hair is looking a little limp.

Just Say No (Sometimes)

Limit yourself a little on the hot tools. You do not have to have perfectly pressed hair every day. Take this advice as an opportunity to explore other styles that do not require hot tools. Heat damage causes breakage. During the times you absolutely have to be sure to lower the heat and ALWAYS use a heat protectant with your hot tools.

Evaluate Yo Hair

Analyze your hair weekly. Is it dry? Is it frizzy? Your hair should be full from root to tip. Slide your fingers beginning at the scalp all the way to the ends to test the health of your hair. Does the bulk of your hair seem to taper at the ends? Does it feel dry? Are there split ends? Listen to your hair and give it what it needs. Keep your hair moisturized and trimmed.

Drop the Bleach

Evaluate your hair before and after your visit with your colorist. Often it’s your colorist that could possibly be holding you back from achieving greatness in length and you may need to divorce them. Also, stop scarifying your hair to be blonde for healthy hair. Being blonde takes a lot of patience and maintenance. At-home care is just as important, if not more important than your salon visits.

Take Your Vitamins

If you aren’t getting nutrients from your diet it will read on your skin and of course. We all know health begins from the inside out so be sure to follow a healthy diet for better hair. Choose an organic vitamin that reads Hair, Skin, and Nails.
